A Touch of Pin-Up, Snake Included

When a model wants something different
(such as working with a snake)
I say yes.

Think of all of the pictures possible!

The mind boggles yes?

But then you add in the driving force behind this shoot...

Kayla.

She wanted to shoot with a snake.
She found a snake she could use for the shoot.
Then she chose me to shoot what she wanted.

Thank you Kayla!

This young woman, the more I work with her the more I enjoy it.

When I work with her I get shots like...

And

Which I then will turn into

~

And

Kayla was incredibly brave,
because lets be honest here,
who wants a snake right here?

I'm not sure I could have done it,
in fact,
I'm fairly certain I would have freaked.

It's so much easier being on this side of the camera.

Bravo Kayla and thank you for such an incredible shoot!

I thought your inspired homage to America's Next Top Model went very well! You looked gorgeous and it really worked with your blonde hair.

You can find Kayla here on Facebook.

Torn between Nature and Portraits (HDR images)

HDR

Yes, it's something that is fairly new to me but it's something that I have grown to love over the last few months.

Learning,
that sense of discovery is priceless,
even if the process is imperfect.

I must say,
experimenting and learning about working in HDR is causing me to lean more towards returning to one of the things that pulled me towards photography.
Nature.

Not that I don't enjoy working with people,
because I certainly do,
but the wonder of the world around me is something I can never seem to let go of.

When I get the chance to blend it all together,
it makes me even happier.
(Model Cassandra Green in HDR)

So I am once more indecisive,
quelle surprise right?

Which direction do I go?

Do I have to chose?

Photography
Inspiration
Creativity

I will simply have to muddle through I suppose.

Decisions are never to be made lightly.

Snow White part two

Snow White
She was sweet as pie
even to her Stepmother.

There would be none
that would ever think
there was anything amiss.

No one
No one
Could ever expect her
to cause any harm.

She invited her Stepmother out,
for just a little chilled wine.

Out in the snow,
her favorite place.

The perfect place.

For a perfect drink.

How sweet it is.

Her Evil Stepmother of course
Very much enjoyed her drink.

It had such a...
"different flavor"
She claimed.

Oh yes,
Thought Snow White,
Different indeed.

Snow White smiled,
As her Stepmother began to feel...
faint and weak.

From her mouth bubbled
Painful foam, fast and clean
Caused
By the hidden ingredient
Within her cup.

Snow White waited
Until there was one last gasp.

Then, her work finally done,
she sat down to relax.

Content once more.
Sweet
Sweet
Snow White

(No Stepmothers were actually harmed in the making of this story!)

White as Snow... Part One

Snow White,
poor little girl.

She had an evil,
and I do mean EVIL,
Stepmother.

Didn't she?

Can't you tell?

Well perhaps she wasn't quite,
*ahem*, as evil as all that.

Even so,
Snow felt that she had to make sure
that nothing she hated would happen.

She hated change.

So she pondered on the problem.

Who was this woman,
anyway?

To her,
the Evil Stepmother,
everything was always black and white.

Snow White knew,
two could play that game,
and she never lost.

Black or white,
good or bad,
she would find a way to return.

Back to where everything was before.

Soon everything would return to the way
it had always been.

Soon.
